Italy, 16th – 18th century for the intaglio and late 18th century for the gold mounting.
インタリオ
Comparanda : The scene is based on roman reliefs and in frequently found on the decorative mounts of hardstone vases by the Saracchi worshop (Kirsten Aschengreen Piacenti and John Boardman, Ancient and modern gems and jewels in the collection of Her Majesty the Queen, London, 2008, ref. 191). It’s in fashion from the 16th century (for example, the work of the Italian engraver Valerio Belli, mid 16th century) (Splendeurs des collections de Catherine II de Russie, Le cabinet des pierres gravées du Duc d’Orléans, Expo, Paris, 200, ref. 190/6) to the 18th century (P.-J. Mariette, Traité des pierres gravées, 1750. ref. XXXIV – XXXVI)
